Background
I have been in private practice in downtown Grinnell, Iowa, since September, 2006.  I enjoy my clients and my collaborative work with them tremendously and I feel privileged and honored to do the work I do.

I earned my Bachelor's degree at Grinnell College and my doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Kansas, an American Psychological Association-accredited program.  While there, I received the training and experience to work effectively with a broad range of clients.  I also obtained specialized training and experience in working with college students and LGBT clients and in conducting group therapy.  I completed my year-long, clinical internship at the Pennsylvania State University counseling center, also an APA-accredited program.

Following completion of my training, I worked for nine years as a staff psychologist at Poweshiek County Mental Health Center in Grinnell.  There I was able to serve a wide range of clients, from every walk of life, helping them with diverse life challenges and mental illnesses.  I also worked extensively with clients who were students at Grinnell College.

I am licensed to practice psychology in Iowa and I belong to the American Psychological Association and the Iowa Psychological Association.
